Beauty Hacks From Your Kitchen | Turmeric


In the past Turmeric was commonly used for healing ailments, wounds, and let’s not forget keeping you fresh. There are tons of health benefits to using turmeric, curcumin –the active ingredient in turmeric has potent anti-inflammatory benefits and can help ease the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Turmeric is a traditional spice used in Island and East Indian dishes. Its flavor is very similar to curry, as turmeric is one of the main ingredients used to create the popular spice and it is also a member of the ginger family. Thanks to modern medicine, we now reserve this spice for adding a bit of zest to our favorite meal, but today we will discuss how to use it to hack our way into a beautiful complexion.

Lightening Stretch Marks

To clear blemishes use about a table spoon of turmeric, lemon juice and coconut oil. Mix together and spread it on those badges of honor. Once it dries take a shower rinse and repeat daily until those puppies start to fade.

Got Acne?! Got Turmeric? 

Get some Greek yogurt about a table spoon and a teaspoon of turmeric and blend them together. For a boost add a few drops of peppermint oil to the mix. Apply to affected area and keep mask on for 15 minutes. Then rinse and enjoy that clean cool feeling.

You may be wondering why turmeric? Well because it’s awesome duh! It’s also jammed packed with antiseptic and antibacterial properties, it’s also useful in disinfecting cuts and burns. This wonder spice will not only spice up your dish, it will also kick up your beauty regiment into high gear.
